Interested in Mesh Networks, but don’t know where to start? Try https://www.youtube.com/@The_Comms_Channel – He has a lot of good videos on MeshCore and MeshTastic. He started out on MeshTastic and then switched over to MeshCore for his primary use. Most Nodes that you purchase can be used for MeshCore or MeshTastic – it is just a matter of Flashing the FirmWare for which ever one you want to use.
Personally, I feel like MeshTastic has a smaller learning curve and is easier to get started with – but I also prefer GMC Trucks over Chevrolet Trucks and I do understand they are both built by General Motors:) It boils down to a matter of Personal Preference and which mode has a better infrastructure where you would want to use it.
If you live in the SouthEast Tennessee / NorthEast Alabama / NorthWest Georgia (TAG) Area – You may be able to connect via Repeaters/Routers that were deployed by the LookOut Mountain Amateur Radio Community (LMARC.net), to extend your range of communications.
Happy Meshing 🙂
